Anxiety

Anxiety
Anxiety is a normal response to a range of different situations. However, worry or fear can affect your mental health if you feel anxious every day and can’t remember when you last felt relaxed.

Counselling helps you to explore and understand these feelings, and suggest ways of coping.

What does anxiety feel like?

Anxiety manifests with physical signs: increased heart rate, tense muscles, dizziness, sleeplessness and even hyperventilation. These can be a normal reaction to external stresses - the fight or flight response - but they are a problem when they happen habitually and start to interfere with your life.

Overcoming anxiety

It’s important to understand what is causing your anxiety - then you can look at steps to address it. Talking to a counsellor can help you understand situations that cause your anxiety and break the cycle of negative throughts.
