Hello and welcome to the wonderful world Of talking therapy...I am Margaret Levingstone, I work as a Person Centred Therapist and I am based in Enniscorthy, Co. Wexford, Ireland.
Many people, at some stage in their lives will encounter difficulties which they find overwhelming. Being upset, confused and unhappy can lead to anxiety, affecting your mood, relationships, performance at work and potentially your health. Although family and friends can be well meaning and supportive, many issues are best dealt with by a trained professional as this offers you the opportunity to discuss your concerns within a safe and confidential environment.
Person-centred TherapyThe person-centred approach is a 'state of being' from which the counsellor tries to be unwavering in her acceptance, empathy and genuineness towards you and no matter what form the work takes, these attributes remain the bedrock on which the counselling relationship rests. Therefore, the most significant thing that you need to know about Counselling is understanding that the relationship you have with your Therapist is key, not the particular approach used, nor the amount of money charged but the relationship that you develop with her/him. Results are based on the quality of this relationship.
Cognitive Behavioural TherapyWithin my role as a Person Centred Therapist I also incorporate Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) in my practice. CBT can be effective in helping people suffering from: Depression, Loss, Grief, Perfectionism, all areas of Anxiety, low self esteem and many other areas that may be affecting your life.
